This article is aimed at identifying, describing and explaining the types of translation techniques used in translating press releases from French into English published on the official websites of some ministries of Cameroon. These include the areas of public exams (Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reforms), education (Ministries of Secondary and Higher Education), transport (Ministry of Sports), health (Ministry of Public Health), economy (Ministry of Finance), and public relations (Ministry of External Relations). The Descriptive Translation Studies (DTS) approach by Gideon Toury, the communication and skopos theories of translation were used to analyse 50 (fifty) excerpts of French press releases which have been translated into English. The findings show that the most used translation technique in the English translation of press releases was Modulation, followed by Amplification. However, 11 translation techniques are identified in the English translations of press releases.
